Climbing is Dangerous...
But you know that already. While we at Blue Beta Tours do everything in our power to ensure that our clients have a safe and accident-free trip, we are not climbing guides/instructors nor responsible for clients when they are on the rock.
This means that clients should have a solid understanding of the numerous aspects of sport-climbing safety, including, but not limited to:
- Tying into a harness with a Figure-8 knot
- Lead and top-rope belaying
- Setting up and cleaning an anchor
- Lead climbing (clipping draws, rope management, etc.)
- General rope management
- Rappeling
As well, our tours feature hiking on dirt trails to and from crags, often on uneven terrain and/or steep grades, and sometimes with the potential of rockfall. As well, activities away from the rock, including sightseeing or swimming also pose risks that clients are responsible for understanding prior to booking.
These activities are inherently dangerous and that with each of these activities come risk of injury or death, and all clients should understand and agree that for the duration of the above mentioned tour they fully responsible for their own safety. To this end, we require all of our clients to carry personal accident insurance sufficient to cover property damage and/or bodily injury that may occur to themselves and are capable of personally paying for any and all such expenses or liability, including rescue charges should the need arise during this event.
If you do not currently have your own travel insurance, we recommend Travel Guard, which has a variety of reasonably priced plans to cover most contingencies. To purchase from Travel Guard, please click here. To compare their products and pricing, please click here.
Lastly, all clients must print and sign our Assumption of Risk Waiver (by clicking the button below), and return the form by mail prior to departure to:
